This place is a joke in the name of hotel. When we entered, the people at reception were extremely unwelcoming as if they were unhappy seeing us. We felt terrified looking at their expressions. They just handed over the key of the room which was on third floor. After checking in, the room was not clean and had dirt all around. Taps were broken in the bathroom. Later to our nightmare the hotel workers were banging and dragging things on the above floor which caused extreme disturbance. When it didn't stop for 3 hours we called at the reception, inspite of which it was not handled and lasted for another 2 hours till 2 AM in the night. We couldn't sleep the whole night. The next morning we checked out early as we were not feeling safe at all.. when we called at the reception to send someone for luggage, they ignored and nobody came. We waited for around 20 mins and then somehow managed to carry our luggage by ourselves and finally left. I am a travel enthusiast and this was my worst experience ever with a stay so far.

We stayed in this hotel for one night. The location is just ok and the service needs improvement. Though we called the service staff to mention that hot water is not available in our bathroom, they simply asked us to wait without even checking what is the issue. We had no choice but to have cold water shower only. Food is also average. Due to the under-cooked omelette served during breakfast, I felt sick throughout the day.

Quiet place to stay in centre of Leh

Down a short dirt surfaced driveway off Fort Road, this hotel is in the centre of Leh and only a short walk from the pedestrianised shopping centre. There are a couple of good pashmina shops just up the street from the hotel, both on the right hand side as you walk up, and a good first floor bar up another street to the left just as you walk up Fort Road. The hotel itself is fine, clean rooms, friendly front desk, ok food (but probably better to eat out in town). There appeared to be a new lift being commissioned but not yet in service when we stayed, while the stairs are idiosyncratic, with at least one varying step height between each floor which represents a significant trip hazard until you work out which are the trick ones. Upper floors are not suitable for children because the windows open fully to provide easy access onto the wide window ledges, which have no protection against falls.

The location is near market. You can walk to market for basic shopping. The room (for a change) had a ceiling fan and meshed window for fresh air. Hot water was available for bath. The restaurant area was spacious and the food quality was great.
